Speakeasy Art Gallery Presents the Work of
Mike Bell

T he New Jersey Highlands Coalition is sponsoring the 5th Annual Juried Highlands Art and Photography Exhibit at the Morris Museum.  All artists over 18 years of age, regardless of experience are invited to enter.  For this show, which will be held from January 9 - February 18, 2018, the exhibition of all selected pieces will be shown at the Morris Museum, in Morristown, New Jersey.  The three top prize winners also will be shown at Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery in Bernardsville throughout the month of March, 2018.Speakeasy Art Gallery is pleased to present the work of Mike Bell, opening this Friday, October 6th from 6 pm - 9 pm. Mike Bell's art blends an aura of nostalgia and humor, combined with vivid color and a combination of influences. Japanese cartoons, classic monsters, vintage toys, punk rock, carnivalesque images, MAD magazine and Big Daddy Roth are among the cultural forces that have shaped his art. The juxtaposition of counter culture imagery with modern day influences are the blueprint for Mike's canvases.

A true lowbrow painter, Mike paints illusionistic as well as cartoony, sometimes with a hazy distinction. The outcome is a world where the weird is wonderful and the inhuman is alive.

Be Part of History! Sponsor a Bench at the Post Office Plaza

BMS is elated that the exterior signage on the Kiosk in front of the Boonton Post Office have been updated. This new location is being updated to allow visitors to be informed of events and business promotions in our downtown area. This  "information plaza" for Post Office customers, residents and downtown visitors alike has begun to take shape and we couldn't be more excited! We are now offering opportunities to sponsor a bench for a business or a loved one. Find out more about this by emailing us at info@BoontonMainStreet.org.

Follow us as we continue to work on the plaza!

We hope that you will contribute to this project and help improve the historic Boonton downtown district. If you are interested in being part of this initiative please
