Meet Terry Woodworth, Rural Ecosystem Builder!

Terry Woodworth joined the CIC / SBDC team at the beginning of June as the Rural Ecosystem Builder. This role will engage and grow entrepreneurial support networks throughout the rural counties in GO Virginia Region 9 which are the counties of Nelson, Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Greene, Culpeper, Fauquier, and Madison. Terry served as former Regional Director and Director of Life Sciences at the Center for Innovative Technology (now VIPC) as well as many other roles in the public and private sectors. During his time in the private sector, Terry worked with the Virginia SBDC network in launching the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP). Most recently, Terry worked with the Virginia Department of Health as a Case Investigator and COVID Mitigation Specialist for the Blue Ridge Health District. His goal is to help entrepreneurs access resources in rural Virginia. Please join us in a warm welcome!

USDA Extends Application Deadline for Revenue Loss Programs to July 14

WOSB.certify.sba.gov

WOSB and EDWOSB firms are required to undergo a program examination every three years to maintain certification. Previously, WOSB Program participants had to annually attest to their eligibility to continue participating in the program. The rule change removes the annual attestation requirement. The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity partners with GenEdge Alliance in an upcoming mentor protégé pilot program for manufacturing-related businesses. Learn more here.
