Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) is a program owned and managed by TSA. It is a rigorous one-day competition in which middle school and high school students apply math and science knowledge in practical, creative ways to solve real-world engineering challenges.

The 2020 TEAMS competition theme—“ Engineering in the Wild ”—features three components:

  • designing and building a solution to a problem
  • thought-provoking math problems
  • essay

Student teams compete at the state level between February 5th and March 8th at their own schools or host universities. Top-ranked teams are invited to compete for "Best in Nation" honors at the 2020 National TSA Conference in June in Nashville, TN.

Schools that participate in both TSA and TEAMS provide a broad range of STEM experiences for a variety of students. Click  here  to learn more.
