Blood & Sand Cocktail?

The Blood & Sand cocktail was named for Rudolph Valentino's 1922 bullfighter movie Blood and Sand. Its appropriate red color comes from the ones of its ingredients: blood orange juice.

Did you know that during Prohibition, new drink recipes featured stronger mixers and flavors to cover up the questionable, low-quality alcohol of the day?

Chocolates Inspired by Hollywood

What's better than a boozy bonbon? We are making some 1920s-themed cocktail bonbons so you can take them with you when you see the Great Gatsby movie this month.

Somethin' Special for Mother's Day (May 13)

We're bringing back the heart-shaped salted butter caramels for Mother's Day starting Saturday. Your mother probably says she loves all her children equally, but you can gain a competitive edge by treating her to a box of bonbons that you picked out just for her. If you'd like to spoil her with, say, Peanut Butter Bars, Fleur de Sel Caramels, and Almond Dragee - we'll tie them up with a bow for you and have some pretty tissue paper to tuck into the bag so you have nothing to wrap!

Chocolate Cocktail Bonbons

To kick things off, we just put out our Mint Julep bonbons - just in time for the Kentucky Derby. This weekend, you'll find two more bonbons: Gin Rickey (Old Tom Gin, white chocolate ganache with lime) and Blood & Sand (Scotch, vermouth, blood orange ganache). Watch our Facebook page for more info. We'll still have the Old Fashioned and Butterscotch bonbons, too!

Weekend Brownies Now at Mosaic

You asked, we listened! Our fresh-baked brownies, made by chocolatiers for chocolate lovers, are now available at both of our shops on the weekends only. They are $4 each.

More good news! With nice weather comes outdoor movie season and you can catch some flicks al fresco in the park by the Angelica movie theater across the street from our Merrifield shop at 7 p.m. on Fridays.

June & July Chocolate Classes

Join Jason Andelman in our Clarendon kitchen to get your hands dirty and make some chocolate of your own. You'll learn about cocoa beans and how we make our bonbons in addition to getting to taste lots of our confections while you're here. We'll give you tons of chocolate to take home and a 10% discount if you want more! The next two classes are on Sundays: June 9 & July 14 (3 to 5 p.m.). $85. Call 703.524.0007 for reservations.
