The K-16 Education Work Experience Program

Is Seeking Host LEAs for Spring 2025!

The K-16 Collaborative invites San Diego and Imperial County LEAs to participate in our Education Work Experience Program! We are seeking placements for interns at elementary, middle and/or high school sites in positions such as Academic Tutor and/or Classroom Aide.

This is an excellent opportunity for K-12 LEAs to...

  • Provide additional academic support to students and teachers;
  • Diversify and strengthen your candidate pool for future teaching positions;
  • Provide a valuable opportunity to undergraduate college students that allows interns to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience that will better prepare them for careers in education.

The K-16 Collaborative will pay all wages, coordinate intern recruitment, as well as provide training and ongoing support to all participants!

Check out these student interns!

"This has honestly been one of the most formative experiences in my career. I have learned so much in so little time. I did not expect the time to fly by so quickly, yet here we are.

I just want to say that this internship has truly, radically changed me. I am realizing I am truly capable of accomplishing big things if I set out to do so. Making the transition from full-time student and single mother to being a working, studying, doing-it-all mother has been transformative and empowering. This internship is paving my way and I am excited to share with the K-16 team where my journey takes me after this opportunity. I know that because of this experience, I will go far.

I am honored to have been part of this cohort of students."
