ROOTED IN FAITH, TRADITION, AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Alumni and friends of St. Francis Borgia,

How quickly the 2021-2022 school year has gone! Graduation is rapidly approaching when we will bid a fond farewell to our seniors. These 105 seniors have a wide range of plans - four-year universities, technical schools, junior colleges, the military, and a few who already have fantastic job offers and will join the local workforce immediately after graduation. Our goal is to have everyone who graduates leave here with a plan, and we are very optimistic about the future for this group. Congratulations, seniors!

Graduation, however, does not mean things will slow down that much on campus this summer. We have two major projects starting right after the end of the school year. The more visible change will be the replacement of the turf in St. Francis Borgia Stadium, which will be ready by the start of the fall sports season. Less visible, but equally important, are significant upgrades to our aging HVAC system in the building. These improvements will make a huge difference in student and staff comfort while also putting a significant dent in our monthly electric bills as we move to high-efficiency systems.

The strength of our graduating class and the ability to take on these projects start with the support of the Borgia family. Your continued care of our school is its true strength and something for which I am extraordinarily grateful.

Have a great summer and B-O-R!

Sincerely,

Matt Schutte
President

CONNECT WITH BORGIA ALUMNIFIRE

Network for career advice. Find a mentor. Be a mentor. Hire a Knight.
JOIN THE ALUMNIFIRE NETWORK!

Alumni networks may be the most valuable things we have that we don't use. In fact, 9 out of 10 alumni tell us that they'd prefer to hire a fellow alum if given the choice, but this happens less than 4% of the time. That's a lot of doors nobody's opening.

Alumnifire is the first independent and organic digital networking platform powered directly by alumni. It engages members to open doors and create opportunities for one another in the real world and on their own terms. We encourage you to check it out by clicking the button below.

BORGIA IS...
A SCHOOL OF SERVICE!
Congratulations to St. Francis Borgia High School on winning this year's Helper Helper High School Service Challenge. It was a close race up till the end! Thank you to all of our participating schools. More than 44K hours combined were logged by the top 50 schools during April in Helper Helper.
On Wednesday, April 13, our Borgia students took short bus trips to nine locations in or near Washington. They cleaned, painted, sorted clothing or food, or spent time with people living in assisted-living communities at their assigned spots.

Called Borgia Gives Back, the event was intended to instill in students an understanding of the effect they can have on the community.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Borgia celebrated its amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6. We celebrated each day with a different token of appreciation.

Monday - Each teacher received a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Tuesday - Bagels and pastries from Panera were offered to our teachers in the faculty lounge.
Wednesday - Administration treated each teacher to their favorite Sonic drink. (Because of unforeseen circumstances, these drinks were actually served on Thursday).
Thursday - Cinco De Mayo meant chips/salsa and virgin margaritas for our faculty and staff.
Friday - We closed the week with a teacher appreciation luncheon provided by our awesome volunteer parents!
BORGIA PROM 2022
On Saturday, April 23, our seniors celebrated with a night of dinner and dancing at this year's senior prom. Congratulations to Queen Meredith Little (St. Anthony's) and King, Chris Irwin (Washington Middle School)!
