Mayor and Council Honors Franklin Lakes War Eagle Champions
At the January 21 Mayor and Council meeting, the Pee Wee, Junior, and Senior War Eagle football teams were honored with Proclamation for their successful 2024 football seasons. Each Franklin Lakes team won the Tri-County Football League Super Bowl in their division.

Mayor Kahwaty Presents "Champion of Health" Plaque
to Dina Robinson
At the January 21 Mayor and Council meeting, Mayor Kahwaty presented Dina Robinson, the Franklin Lakes Community Director, with a plaque from the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute as the recipient of the 2024 Mayors Wellness Campaign "Champion of Health," a most prestigious award.

1st Quarter 2025 Taxes Due
1st Quarter 2025 taxes are due February 1, 2025. The last day of the grace period for 1st Quarter 2025 taxes is Monday, February 10, 2025. Payments received after February 10, 2025 will have interest charged back to February 1, 2025 as mandated by the State of New Jersey. We do not honor postmarks.
Tax payments can be made by using any of these options:

Pay taxes online. Recommended option.
- Use Drop-box at Borough Hall - place tax payments (checks only) in a sealed envelope, in the secure drop box by the front door of Borough Hall. If you need a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. The drop-box is available 24/7.
- Mail payments to the Tax Collector's Office at 480 DeKorte Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417. If you need a receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please allow sufficient mail time as it is taking longer to get postal deliveries during this time. We do not honor postmarks.

Cervical Health Awareness Month
January is considered Cervical Health Awareness Month by the US Congress. According to the National Cancer Institute; over 14,000 women in United States alone are diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer each year, which can be preventable with HPV vaccines and pap smear screenings.
Contact your primary care doctor to discuss your options to prevent cervical cancer. Visit the CDC for additional information on screening for cervical cancer.

The Franklin Lakes Mayors Wellness Campaign will be hosting a Farmers & Artisan Market starting this Spring at Veterans Plaza. The market will feature 20+ vendors each week. You can expect fresh produce, artisanal breads and baked goods, meats and dairy, spices and sauces, beverages, prepared foods and snacks, home and beauty, pet goods and treats, health and wellness, arts and activities, interactive and retail, children activities, crafters and food trucks. Schedule a Curbside Collection for Bulk Waste, and Metal/Appliance Recycling
Details on curbside collections that need to be scheduled, visit Metal/Large Appliance and Bulk Waste. Residents must schedule a collection by completing a request form for bulk waste and metal and large appliance pick-up no later than10:00 AM the day before the scheduled date of collection.

The Old Stone Music and Coffee House - Friday, February 7th. Tim Gysin (our favorite “Piano Man”) will be performing from 8-10 pm. Doors open at 7:30. $10 cover charge, which includes entry and unlimited coffee, tea, a cold drink and some yummy baked goodies. BYOBOW is allowed.
