Flags at Half-Staff
Have you ever wondered why a flag is flown at half-staff? In the United States, the president or governor can issue an order for the flag of the United States to be flown at half-staff.
The New Jersey Office of the Secretary of State creates and maintains an electronic notification system alerting the public when United States and State flags are to be flown at half-staff. If you would like to be kept informed, visit New Jersey Flag Status to subscribe to the Flag Status notification email list.
