Greetings Bradley Beach-
The Summer of 2022 is complete from “beach operations”
perspective; and we had great success. We achieved just
under $2 million in beach revenue. This is 6% over last year
and over 30% over our 2016-2019 average of $1.5 million!
The beaches and ocean were spectacular all summer; and all
of our Municipal employees should be commended for their hard work. The team includes Lifeguards, Gate Attendants, Cashiers, Public Works, Tourism, and all of our Public Safety team that contributed to the success.
It’s election season; and I hope everyone eligible will participate in this important civic responsibility. There will be an important non-binding referendum question on the 319
LaReine Avenue Church property. Those who participated in the survey this summer are familiar with the facts of the project and you provided us great feedback. We will provide
additional information to the community as we come closer to the election. For your information, Vote-by-mail ballots should be arriving- please vote! Early voting starts the 29th of October and goes through 6th of November. An early voting center close to us is the Senior Center is on 1607 Corlies Ave. Neptune.
On September 27th , Chief Kelly Hagerman, Deputy Chief John Zech, and myself attended and participated at the Make-a Wish Foundation with 9-year old Antonio Cardona, along with multiple Fire Companies. Antonio was awarded a junior firefighter status and participated in a rescue exercise! Chief Hagerman presented Antonio a patch and certificate from Bradley Beach. Thanks to our Fire Company for their participation.
Our Fire Company will be holding it’s Annual Fish Fry on Friday, October 7th from 5:30-7:30. Please come our with your family and support our Firefighters!
The Latin Festival at Riley Park on September 18th was a rousing success. So glad we were able to honor our Latin-X Community!
Please come to my next “Connect and Quench” session at Riley Park- Tuesday October 6th from 5:30-6:30 (yes-we changed the time). I’ll be there with our Business Administrator, Kim
Humphrey, to answer any questions or discuss issues you may have. All are welcome.
On Sunday, October 16th at 12:00PM we are holding our Fall 4th Mayors Wellness Walk on the Promenade. We had solid participation at our Summer; and I hope you can participate.
Additionally, we are planning a blood drive for December 15th details will be forthcoming.
As I have said before, we have a wonderful, responsive community.
Enjoy this Fall season and participate when/where you can!
See you around town-
Best- Mayor Larry Fox
