Center Tour Enthusiasm Events

The purpose of the Boston Center Tour is to introduce family, friends, and the community at large to the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.
During the Center Tour, newcomers will be able to hear a general lecture and, if they wish sign up for the SRF Lessons, they will be able to attend the meditation technique classes offered on the following day.
Mother Center has encouraged the "friends and family campaign" as it has been the most effective way to interest newcomers.  Please join us on February 25 and March 25, at 12:15 pm after service when we will share their guidance on how to invite friends, family and others.
Refreshments will be served.
We need your help to spread the word and to make this Center Tour a memorable event for all.

A warm THANK YOU to all who attended last week's enthusiasm event!

Self Realization Fellowship

"Work of any kind if done in the right spirit gives you victory over yourself... The attitude with which you work is what counts. Mental laziness and working unwillingly spoil one. People often ask me 'How do you do so many things?' It is because I do everything with the greatest pleasure and spirit of service. Inwardly I am all the time with God. And though I sleep very little I always feel fresh, because I perform my duties with the right attitude: that it is a privilege to serve."   -- Paramahansa Yogananda, Where There is Light

Please Consider Volunteering At the Boston Center
Seva - This is held the first Sunday of every month for about an hour.  Volunteers perform light housekeeping in Sanctuary, Lobby, and Fellowship Hall that may include vacuuming rugs, dusting Guru's pictures, emptying waste baskets, restocking restrooms with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. A specific special project(s) may be announced during our Sunday service as a special need arises.  Snacks are generally provided and friendship abounds.
Ushers - serve for regular services on Thursday and Friday; also for special services and Saturday meditations throughout the year.
Greeters - serve after Sunday services to say hello especially to newcomers, answer questions about the Boston Center, SRF, extend an invitation to explore our bookroom and free literature table.
Flowers - assist  to create the floral presence for regular and special services.
Bookroom - help devotees make purchases after Sunday service.
Facilities Maintenance - serve as part of a team effort to identify and resolve issues impacting the physical structure and inner workings of our center and house.
Grounds Maintenance - attend to the living outside of our center to create an orderly and beautiful presence in our neighborhood.
Kitchen - Help is generally needed for Social Events held 5 or 6 times per year. Filling dishwasher, washing a few dishes, emptying the dishwasher.  In general, tidying things up.
Social Events - decorating, setting up and taking down tables, ensuring our socials run smoothly whether it's decorating pumpkins with children for Halloween, India Day or our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.
