  • For questions and information on resources available to BPS families during the school closure, call the BPS Helpline at 617-635-8873, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Help is available in Arabic, Cape Verdean Creole, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

  • New policies for learning at home went into effect May 4. You can find information about grading, attendance, schedules, and more in the letter sent to families and staff here.
EBT Funds for All BPS Families
Beginning this month, every BPS family will receive financial assistance for food due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds are available under a new federal program called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT.
 
Families will receive $5.70 each eligible child each day for every day school is closed due to the pandemic, which comes to $28.50 a week.  
 
If you do not currently have an EBT card, you will receive a P-EBT card in the mail. Each enrolled BPS child in the household will receive a unique P-EBT card. If you currently have an EBT card, funds will be added to your account. The money can be used to buy food items at stores where SNAP benefits (food stamps) are accepted (look for signs that say, “We accept EBT here”). Click here f or more information or email . High School Students:
Become a Teaching Assistant
The Exam School Initiative at BPS intends to expand access to historically underrepresented students in the district’s exam schools. High school students are encouraged to apply as Teaching Assistants for the summer institute, July 13-August 21.

Homework Help with the Boston Public Library
BPL Homework help is a drop-in program. K-8 students can join meetings online or by phone Mon.-Thurs., 3:30-5:30 pm. Boston Saves
K2 students have $50 for college or career training in an account from Boston Saves. Earn even more money for your child. Log into the Savings Center to see the money in your child’s account and start earning more.
School Registration
Welcome Centers are currently closed, but you can register your student for BPS by pre-registering here and schedule an appointment here to complete the process over the phone OR call 617-635-9010 to register by phone with a registration specialist.
