Boston Public Schools Class of 2020
and celebrate their accomplishments with a virtual graduation ceremony, airing on WCVB Channel 5 and streaming on
wcvb.com.

Mayor Walsh

former United States Secretary of Education John King
as the keynote speaker.

EBT Funds for All BPS Students
|
Every BPS family will receive financial assistance for food due to the COVID-19 pandemic, available under a new federal program, P-EBT. Families will receive $28.50 a week for each eligible child.
If you do not currently have an EBT card, you will receive a P-EBT card in the mail. Each enrolled BPS child in the household will receive a unique P-EBT card. If you currently have an EBT card, funds will be added to your account. The money can be used to buy food items at stores where SNAP benefits (food stamps) are accepted (look for signs that say, “We accept EBT here”). BPS has launched a new video program called BPS Moves Together! The family fitness program airs on
Boston Neighborhood Network
and streams online, providing BPS students and families access to physical and wellness education at home. The program is sponsored by
Crown Castle’s Connected by Good
program, which supports efforts to improve public spaces, create safer communities and advance access to education and technology.

The 826 Boston Youth Literary Advisory Board is accepting poems, narratives, essays, and original artwork about self- identity to be featured in a professionally bound book. BPS students, grades 7-12 can submit their writing or artwork. Submit using this
form.
Students selected to be featured in the book will receive a free copy of the book and will be invited to a book release celebration.
Deadline extended to Sunday, June 7.

The Exam School Initiative at BPS intends to expand access to historically underrepresented students in the district’s exam schools. High school students are encouraged to apply as Teaching Assistants for the summer institute, July 13-August 21.
