Show and Opening Reception at Chimera Gallery, Lopez Island WA

   Join Linda Ann Vorobik and TJ Anderson this Saturday, May 10th, for a show of Linda's botanical art and hand-painted silk, and TJ's wood art. The reception is 5-7 pm; please join us...refreshments served.

   Show runs through June 13th. Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday & Wednesday through Saturday, Sunday 10 am to 3 pm. For more information about the show or the artists see www.ChimeraGallery.com.

 

Field sketching in the Siskiyous. Upcoming Workshops

   Workshops at the Siskiyou Field Institute, in beautiful southwestern Oregon:

May 29th - June 30th. Field Sketching--Taking notes in a visual manner. Part One: Drawing leaves, stems, and habits. June 1st to June 2nd. Field Sketching Part Two: Drawing flowers, inflorescences and fruits. For link to Part I see Siskiyou Field Institute. This workshop along with Field Sketching Part One are designed to not only help with journaling, but also to create an your own personal illustrated glossary of plant terms.

   Other workshops at SFI June 27th & 28th: Botanizing the High Siskiyous: Plant Names and Their Stories. July 9th, 10th, and 11th: Advanced Plant Identification.

  Workshops at Point Reyes National Seashore, CA. June 20th-22nd: Painting wildflowers: from field to studio. This three day workshop will be held about an hour north of San Francisco at the amazing Point Reyes Boathouse, near Chimney Rock, where the wildflowers are stupendous, and the views equally amazing. As stated in the title, time will be spent both doing field sketching (weather permitting) and working in the classroom, our "studio" away from home.

       Botanical Art on the Big Island of Hawaii: Oct 2014 at SKEA
  It is getting closer...time for locals to sign up, and we grateful visitors to be thinking of our dose of aloha spirit....Linda has two weekend workshops for drawing and painting lovely tropical flowers:
   October 18-19, 11-5: Drawing plants: pencil, pens, colored pencil. Cost: $175/$200 (members/non-members of SKEA)
   October 25-26, 11-5: Botanical Art: Watercolor and Gouache. Cost: $175/$200 (members/non-members of SKEA)
   SKEA is a local art organization in the Captain Cook area, south of Kona-Kailua.
