We can’t wait to welcome you this fall and show you all we have to offer.

Bouchercon 2026 registration closes on September 30 and after this point, there will be no late registrations. To ensure our registrants have access to all of the convention programming, there will be no day passes available for 2026.

There is still time to register and make plans. We hope you will join us.

Attending Authors

Take a moment to get to know the Guests of Honour as well as the other authors attending Bouchercon 2026. Follow them on social media, sign up for their newsletters, and of course, read their books. Over the course of the convention, you’ll have ample time to catch your favourite authors at a book signing, on a panel, at a presentation, or at the hospitality suite.

Book Bazaar

Over the next month, as you start to pack and the excitement builds, make sure you leave space in your suitcases and start making a book wish list. Each Bouchercon 2026 attendee will receive tickets for free books from our on-site Book Bazaar.

Authors, if you or your publisher would like to make your books available to mystery readers from around the world, contact conmanager@bouchercon.com to donate copies to the Book Bazaar. Donated books must arrive by October 9, 2026, so please arrange to ship them early.

Calgary Public Library Tours

The Calgary Public Library is hosting free, 60-minute tours of the Central Library for Bouchercon attendees. Located a block away from the Telus Convention Centre, this architectural marvel with deep ties to its Indigenous roots is full of stories worth exploring.

Volunteer Info

Bouchercon is made possible by the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, and we would love to have you join the team! There are simple, short shifts available that allow you to contribute while still enjoying the convention:

  • Panel timekeeper
  • Tuesday set up and convention prep
  • Twenty on the Twenty timekeeper
  • Anthology launch

Volunteering is a wonderful way to help make Bouchercon run smoothly, meet fellow attendees, and become even more connected with the Bouchercon community.

Click here for more information and click here to complete the form to register. Additional roles and details will continue to be added as plans are finalized, so be sure to check back regularly.

If you have any questions, please contact Volunteer2026@bouchercon.com

Call for Silent Auction Donations

We will be holding a silent auction to help raise funds for our 2026 charity, the Further Education Society of Alberta. Donations are so important for a successful auction and are a great way to advertise you and your work. Please consider donating to help ensure this year’s auction is a success.

We are grateful for any contribution, big or small, but there are a few things to note. Auction items that do well usually contain more than books – they might contain swag, tea, coffee, chocolate, or handmade items. Auction baskets can have a theme, like Halloween, BBQ, murderer munchies, Canadiana, etc. Many attendees are traveling, so bulky items may be an issue. Consider donating a service, naming rights to a character, a virtual book club visit, a manuscript critique, etc. Due to border crossing issues, it is probably best to avoid alcohol, fresh fruit, or veggie items.

More information can be found here.

Fun Fact

Fall and winter are prime seasons for geomagnetic activity and 2026 has been an excellent year for auroras. If you’d like to spot them, your best chances are between 10 pm and 2 am, away from the downtown city lights. The Northern Lights are hard to predict, but awe-inspiring to see. This October, keep your eyes up and your cameras ready.
