Colorado Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 30th!

Your vote matters! Voting in primary elections is crucial because primaries often determine the final candidates who appear on the general election ballot, giving voters direct influence over the direction of their party and the choices available later. With typically lower turnout than general elections, each individual vote carries far greater weight in shaping outcomes and holding politicians accountable to core Republican principles. Skipping primaries means ceding control to more motivated factions and weakening our constitutional republic.

Boulder County Needs Republican Election Judges and Election Watchers for the General Election in November!

Boulder County is asking Republicans to step up and serve as Election Judges and Election Watchers in the General Election in November!

What do Election Judges do?

They are temporary, paid election workers who help run elections.

Main Duties of Election Judges

They are bipartisan (teams always include both Democrats and Republicans) and perform a wide range of tasks:

• At Vote Centers (on Election Day):
• Check in voters and verify identification when required.
• Issue ballots and assist voters with voting machines or accessible voting options.
• Help with curbside voting and provisional ballots.
• Manage lines and maintain order at polling locations.
• Mail Ballot Processing:
• Signature verification on mail ballots.
• Ballot duplication (when a ballot is damaged or hard to read).
• Sorting and scanning ballots.
• Other Roles:
• Ballot runners (transporting ballots securely).
• Outdoor ballot box attendants.
• Voter registration and address updates.
• Setting up and closing down Vote Centers.

What do Election Watchers do?

These are observers appointed to watch the process, not run it.

• Appointed by candidates, political parties, or issue committees.
• Their role is to observe and verify that the election is conducted fairly and according to law.
• They can be present during key activities, including:
• Setup and operation of Vote Centers
• Voter check-in and ballot issuance
• Mail ballot processing and signature verification
• Ballot scanning and tabulation
• They must stay in designated areas, cannot interfere with voters or election judges, and have rules on how close they can get and what they can do
• They provide transparency and an extra layer of public oversight

Don't let the Democrats do all the judging and watching!

Testify Against Ranked Choice Voting at

Longmont City Council

Tuesday, July 7th, 7 to 11 pm

Testify at the Longmont City Council to stop the Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) proposal on the ballot. The Council will vote on it later in July. BCR should be fighting against it and trying to get Boulder to advocate for repealing their RCV. Please step up and let your voice be heard! Notes from Desk of BCR Chairman, Peg Cage

Empty Ballots, the Party, the People, and Marching Orders. 

If you have already opened your mail ballot, you have probably noticed there are no Republican candidates for the Boulder County government positions. We were very disappointed about that but held out hope that some people would step up to fill those vacant positions before the general election. Unfortunately, we recently learned that as of January this year, the legislature has closed that vacancy committee option, and unfilled positions will remain unfilled.  

Boulder County Republicans have worked towards honest elections for years. BCR even refused to certify elections – two times as part of the majority. Rather than reading BCR’s reports and working with us towards honest elections, the Secretary of State overruled the refusal and certified the state’s election. This set the precedence to move towards state-controlled elections and away from elections that could be verified by the counties’ clerks and representatives of the major parties. Perhaps if more counties had joined BCR and refused to certify back in 2012 and most elections since, we wouldn’t be in this sad situation where so many potential candidates don’t believe they could win in the current election system.  

The people have been divided, even within the parties where they’re supposed to share the principles of their respective platforms. The Colorado legislature is now made up of people who were “elected” in the questionable elections; it is mostly Democrats and “Republicans” who vote with them, and only a few Republicans whose values reflect the party’s principles. For over a decade, the modifications to the election laws have been made by people who benefit from dishonest elections, so they have no incentive to make elections honest. Consequently, the state government represses rather than represents We the People. 

Marching Orders. Boulder County Republicans don’t give Marching Orders. We give opportunities and places to gather. It’s up to the Republicans in Boulder County to decide what kind of government they want. We can see how elections are supposed to work in the chart above. We can review the National Republican Platform to remind ourselves of the party’s goals RNC Platform. We can donate to the County party and the candidates. But mostly, we should remember “IT’S OKAY TO BE RIGHT.” Boulderites don’t even know it, but they’re counting on you to have neighborly conversations with them and kindly lead them towards the pursuit of good candidates, honest elections, and representative, accountable government.
