Presidents Day is Monday, Feb 16!

Here in Colorado, this State and Federal Holiday celebrates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, two of America's most important presidents. Washington is honored for creating the presidency and restraining its power. Lincoln is honored for preserving the nation and expanding its promise of liberty. Both men are great lessons in what leadership within a constitutional republic requires when it matters most. Enjoy the day!

Notes from Desk of BCR Chairman, Peg Cage

Step Forward. Lead. Serve.

Important Dates

  • Precinct Caucuses: March 3, 2026 | 7:00–9:00 PM
  • BCR Assembly: March 21, 2026
  • Primary Election: June 30, 2026

We are now in Week 13 of our four-month journey preparing for self-governance through the caucus and assembly process. The opportunity before us is real — and it starts with you.

Who Will Step Up in 2026?

The following Boulder County offices are up for election:

  • Assessor
  • Clerk and Recorder
  • County Commissioner (District 3)
  • Coroner
  • Sheriff
  • Surveyor
  • Treasurer

These positions shape the direction, integrity, and daily operations of our county government. Leadership at the local level matters — and it begins with citizens who are willing to serve.

Is That Person You?

Do you believe in the America First values reflected in the Republican platform?

Do you want local government to better represent your principles?

Do you know someone who would serve Boulder County with integrity and courage?

Or could that someone be you?

2026 will be a historic year. We will celebrate:

  • The 250th Anniversary of America’s Independence
  • The 150th Anniversary of Colorado Statehood

What better time to step forward and make a difference than NOW?

Local offices matter. Elections matter. Representation matters. But none of it happens unless qualified, principled candidates are willing to put their names on the ballot.

Now is the time to pray, consider, and decide.

Why It Matters

No matter what changes may come to election laws or procedures, one thing remains true:

If Republicans are not on the ballot, voters will not have a choice. Boulder County needs strong, capable leaders who are ready to serve with transparency, accountability, and respect for the Constitution.

How to Get Started

If you are considering running ~ or encouraging someone else to run ~ here are your next steps:

1. Learn About the Offices

2. Connect With Us

Reach out to a BCR elected officer to discuss what running involves: BCR Executive Board We want to help you succeed.

3. Get Involved Now

  • Attend monthly gatherings and events (listed in this newsletter and under “Get Informed” on our website).
  • Build relationships within the party.
  • Share your interest early so we can support you.

The Path to the Ballot

  • Attend your Precinct Caucus (March 3). Bring neighbors and supporters. You will need delegates at Assembly.
  • Have supporters run as delegates. Delegates vote at Assembly and help determine who advances.
  • Attend the BCR Assembly (March 21). Candidates are nominated from the floor. Those receiving 30% or more of the vote move on to the Primary ballot.

This is a grassroots process — and it works when people participate.

Boulder County Needs You

Strong communities are built by citizens who step up when it matters. If you have the experience, the integrity, and the willingness to serve, we encourage you to consider running.

And if you know someone who would be an outstanding candidate, encourage them. Walk alongside them. Support them.

Together, we can build responsible, principled governance in Boulder County.

We look forward to working with you and with the leaders who will rise to serve in 2026!

Sincerely,

Peg Cage, BCR Chairman
