Volunteers are the backbone of Petaluma Bounty, and we would like to show our gratitude! We welcome all Bounty volunteers, as well as CSA and ALIVE members, to join us on the farm for a beautiful autumn afternoon to celebrate your incredible contributions this season.

Sharing the Bounty Through our CSA Program
     

Here at Petaluma Bounty, our CSA program is a partnership between the local community and our farm nestled within it.  Since the spring of 2017, we have distributed almost 150 bags for low-income community members and provided 37 free bags to ALIVE program participants.  We caught up with Ellie, one of our Bounty Bag members, who shared how the Bounty Bag has impacted her eating habits and relationship to food. Bounty Farm Welcomes Young Learners!
Educators Wanted for Fall Field Trips

With the advent of fall, school is back in session and the Bounty Farm is preparing for its first seasonal influx of field trips from local schools. Bounty Farm visits provide opportunities for students to gain a deeper connection to their food and environment -- right in their community!

We wanted to highlight the schools and programs that reached out to Petaluma Bounty to visit the farm this fall. In October, we will welcome young learners from Valley Vista Elementary, Penngrove Elementary, Cypress Secondary School, and McDowell Elementary School. 

Do you have experience as an outdoor educator or are you interested in engaging youth in topics such as food literacy, food justice, and community? We are looking for volunteer educators to lead fun, experiential stations for Farm Visits. Please contact education@petalumabounty.org if you are interested. 
Update on Petaluma Bounty Hunters

As part of Petaluma Bounty's mission to strengthen our community food system, the  Petaluma Bounty Hunters  initiative tackles food insecurity through a beautiful union of food access, engagement, and education.  Bounty Hunters is a long-standing community-wide food gleaning program of Petaluma Bounty, leveraging community resources efficiently to collect fresh, healthy food from backyard gardeners, farms, orchards and businesses. Over the past 10 years, this network of volunteers has recovered, harvested, or delivered over 650,000 pounds of food that would otherwise go to waste. This season has been an uncharacteristically quiet one for the Bounty Hunters.  Click   HERE , for an update on the program by Suzi Grady.
