Farmers Take Note!
If you sell at your farmstand or have a full-on farm store, take time to look over the  Farmstand Audit Tool. This is designed to help you be a  better retailer. Created by Annie Harlow for NOFA-VT it assists farmers in self-evaluation to formulate a retail mindset. This is useful to review in your slower, off season and best prepare for your 2019 season.

Haymaker Buns...perfect for any holiday get together. Caroline makes both sweet and savory light, flavor buns. Great for a week of family & friends gathering.

It's pretty great what is going on at this location, a humming morning crowd for buns & coffee and later in the day the space is turned over for a fantastic dinner as  The Arcadian, specializing in modern Italian cuisine.

2019 Looking Ahead
with Your Support
Our annual fundraising effort is well underway!  Many thanks to you who have already donated to our work supporting farmers, food producers, pre-schools and our healthcare share partnership with Porter Medical and the Health Department.

Our little non-profit does a ton of good for localizing our food system.
Donate to support our work -remember we don't even have an office and are volunteer run with a part time director. We are a  can-do group of dedicated people.

ACORN is an integral part of the Farm to Plate Network. Our localized approach has always had statewide impact and we will continue this in 2019.  Our tried and true Tour de Farms and Local Food Guide carry much of our fiduciary needs; yet support direct from our community matters to our work too.

Thank you to all our supporters & sponsors in 2018, we are proud of our work and YOU helped make it happen.

 Aqua Vitea Continues to Grow!

In early 2018, ACEDC closed on a $100,000 loan to Aqua Vitea for a new bottling line at their production plant in Middlebury.

Over the years, they have grown from a small basement business to their current location at the former Woodchuck facility.

According to Aqua Vitea CEO, Jeff Weaber, ACEDC has been there through multiple stages of growth. "It has been a pleasure to receive commitment from the county where we are trying to grow business and jobs".

Beyond improving their production line efficiency, they have  launched new products: a CBD line of Kombucha and vodka made from the alcohol produced in the kombucha process. They have partnered with neighboring business, Appalachian Gap Distillery rolling out Aqua Vodka, perfect for a holiday toast!

Cheers for another grand year ahead!
