AB 1482 (Castillo), Bowie's Law, Passes Assembly Business and Professions Committee with a Vote of 17-0!

AB 1482strengthens dog breeding standards and improves animal shelter procedures. First, the bill expands current dog breeding standards to include any breeder selling more than one litter per year. It also requires breeders to microchip all dogs they sell, listing the new owner’s information as the primary contact and the breeder as the secondary contact. Second, the bill requires all animal shelters to post their adoptable animals online.
