Chamber Recharge Drawing Monday, November 16th

All 300 tickets have been sold & one lucky person will win $10,000 on Monday, November 16th at 4:15pm.

We will be drawing from the Boat house in East Jordan. You Can watch the drawing LIVE on Facebook!!! You can watch Sheriff Vondra draw the lucky winner on the BOYNE AREA CHAMBER FACEBOOK, CHARLEVOIX AREA CHAMBER FACEBOOK, or EAST JORDAN AREA FACEBOOK.

There will also be three drawings for "Experience Packages" that the wonderful members in each community donated.

The three Chambers of Commerce have been working tirelessly to promote, inform and support the businesses, organizations, residents and visitors of our area and region. The trusted and professional leadership of these three Chamber’s continue to provide updated information, guidance, education and encouragement through these unprecedented times.

As a result of the ongoing pandemic, many of our special fundraising events and programs have had to be cancelled creating a tremendous financial loss and hardship to the operating budgets of these three organizations.

We are so grateful that our community members, businesses, and visitors helped support this raffle. Without such a giving community, we would not have been so successful. THANK YOU!!!!

Earlier than the Bird Event

Boyne City Main Street will be kicking off the 2020 holiday season with two fun events – Earlier than the Bird and the Santa Parade & Holiday Open House.

The 13th Annual Earlier than the Bird shopping event is planned for Saturday, November 21 ALL DAY LONG. Kick off the holiday season with friends, family, and shopping specials.

By holding the event the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Boyne City merchants are inviting customers to get an "early bird" preview of all the great holiday shopping available. Shoppers wearing their pajamas receive special deals at many of the stores. Sweats and workout clothes are not considered pajamas. Stop by the log cabin in Sunset Park to drop off your receipt or e-mail a photocopy of your receipt to to be entered in the drawing to win an Earlier than the Bird coffee mug.

Boyne City Main Street is pleased to partner with the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce on this event.

Businesses – please submit your Earlier than the Bird special and hours the special will run, and if you offer online shopping, curbside pickup, or delivery
Santa Parade & Holiday Open House
The Santa Parade & Holiday Open House will take place on Friday, November 27 (the day after Thanksgiving).
This year the parade will be stationary - meaning the floats will stay in one spot and the people watching will be the ones moving. The floats will be set up around the loop in Veteran's Park. Cars can enter from State Street and drive the loop to view the floats (with Santa at the end, as always!). The drive-thru parade will take place from 6-8 p.m. You can view the official parade poster here. If you would like to have a float of your own the application can be found here. Be sure to visit your favorite downtown restaurant for a bite to eat before or after the parade, and the shops are sure to have a ton of unique gifts for everyone on your list!

Letters to Santa
It’s not too early to start your letters to Santa! Be sure to deposit your letters to Santa in the boxes at the log cabin and Boyne Ace Hardware. From there they get sent directly to the north pole!

Family Fare partners with Good Neighbors Food Pantry during scan campaign to provide hunger relief

Store guests who visit Family Fare in Boyne City through Sunday, Nov. 8 will have the opportunity to donate $1, $5, $10, or round up their purchase at any checkout lane—and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Boyne City’s Good Neighbors Food Pantry.

Throughout the year, SpartanNash—and its family of retail stores, including Family Fare—underwrites companywide retail scan campaigns in partnership with its charitable giving arm, the SpartanNash Foundation. The current campaign supports the Foundation’s mission of providing hunger relief in our communities, and each of SpartanNash’s corporate-owned stores is partnering with a nearby food pantry.

In 2019, The SpartanNash Foundation’s scan campaign to provide hunger relief raised $271,000 to support more than 100 local food pantries and food banks. This year’s campaign will happen over the course of 12 days, with participating stores and fuel centers in eight states.

One hundred percent of all funds raised by Family Fare in Boyne City will go directly to Good Neighbors, which will in turn have a huge impact on the food insecure families it serves through its onsite community food pantry.

For more information on the SpartanNash’s campaigns, visit For more information on Good Neighbors Food Pantry, visit, email, or call 231-497-8677.

Health Department of Northwest Michigan COVID-19 Update

November 1th - The Health Department of Northwest Michigan is reporting 89 new confirmed cases in Antrim (13), Charlevoix (13), Emmet (39), and Otsego (24) counties.
Case investigation and contact tracing are in progress, and relevant information will be shared when it is available. Due to the large volume of cases, case investigations and contract tracing, we ask anyone who is told that they tested positive for COVID19 to self-isolate at home until the health department can reach you. “It is true that although many people continue to experience a mild course of illness, there are many more people of all ages who show symptoms compared to what we encountered during the summer,” stated Lisa Peacock, Health Officer. “The major hospital systems in our area are reporting a rapid increase in COVID-19 inpatients like their counterparts across the state, and we are also seeing an increase in the number of deaths reported. Congregate care settings such as long-term care facilities are at risk for outbreaks as community transmission increases, which is a stark reminder that this virus continues to make its way through the community to the most vulnerable.” Today we are reporting case investigation information for 160 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Of the 160 cases, 159 are being reported in our jurisdiction. The following information is from case investigations completed between November 9 th - 10th .
Stay up to date on the latest information in the Health Department jurisdiction by liking and following our Facebook page and visiting our COVID-19 Data Dashboard. To locate a testing facility, visit the Michigan COVID-19 Test Finder website. To track the risk levels of COVID-19 pandemic indicators, visit the MI Safe Start Map website.

One of the most valuable tools the Chamber
utilizes to promote your business is our Visitors Guide & Business Directory. Our high quality print and interactive digital publication is a benefit of Chamber membership and is used to expose your business to thousands of potential customers.

We know the pandemic has impacted you in major ways. In times like this, the first dollars a company usually cuts is from the advertising budget. This is a big mistake. Advertising in difficult times is actually a smart business decision to preserve and grow your business, both now and into the future. This is an important year to advertise. Our Guide is an excellent way to promote and publicize your business.
In addition to the 15,000 print copies of the Visitors Guide, we also produce a fully interactive digital edition, which enjoys over 140,000 views annually. Your advertisement runs in both formats at no additional cost. The following digital options are available to you:

Our Visitors Guide has a full year of circulation, distributed from the Chamber office, at numerous regional businesses and at MDOT Welcome Centers state-wide.
We are partnering with Boyne City’s own Harbor House Publishers, which is known throughout the Midwest for publishing quality directories, visitors guides and community profiles. Our publication includes a buyer’s guide of Chamber members organized by business category. It also includes a community profile describing our area in a series of magazine-style articles.
Char Shaltz, Account Manager for Harbor House Publishers, will contact you in the next few weeks to discuss options for promoting your business in the 2021/22 Visitors Guide & Business Directory. You can reach Char by phone at (231) 582-2814 Ext. 127 or visit Feel free to give me a call at (231) 582-6222.

As a valued member of the Chamber, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Our Visitors Guide is a high quality publication that we are proud to use to promote our community.

Kim Akin, Executive Director
Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce
