Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

America Needs Club Kids. Club Kids Need You.

Dear BGCL,

On average, kids spend 80% of their time outside of school. After school and during the summer months, it’s critically important that they have safe places to go where they can learn, grow, and have fun.

And that’s exactly what happens at the more than 5,500 Boys & Girls Clubs around the country that serve 3.3 million youth each year, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier.

Unfortunately, a recent federal proposal is threatening a critical funding stream that supports our Clubs. We need you to contact your legislators to protect it.

The President’s recently-released budget proposes eliminating the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) program that supports out-of-school time providers like us.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier serves over 800 kids and teens that are directly impacted by the availability of our 21st Century Community Learning Centers in Hall and Habersham Counties. Each year, 21CCLC impacts the lives of over 240,000 Club kids across more than 920 Club sites, improving learning engagement and school attendance for 70% of the students engaged in the program.

Eliminating 21CCLC would result in hundreds of Boys & Girls Clubs closing their doors, leaving young people with nowhere to go outside of school.

Hundreds of Club kids in Hall and Habersham County and millions of other young people nationwide are counting on Congress to protect funding for this vital program – and we’re counting on you to ask Congress to do so.

Your support gives kids and teens the boost they need to overcome these challenges - and thrive!

  • 97% of Club Kids expect to graduate high school on time, compared to 87% graduation rate nationwide. BGCL has maintained a 100% graduation rate of teens who come to our Clubs.
  • Majority of Club Kids exercise 5 times a week and are 4x more likely to eat their recommended amount of vegetables than their peers.
  • 2 in 3 US students are behind in reading, but 95% of Club Kids are reading on grade level for their age.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs provide mental health programs that help tomorrow’s healers.

Why Your Support Matters

Because of strong support from individuals and businesses, young boys and girls have a safe and positive place to go to when school is out. A place where young people feel encouraged to live to their fullest potential and accomplish the impossible.

With your help, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier ensures that nearly 5,000 kids and teens get the tools, resources and support they need to be successful in their homes, their schools and in their community.
