What's Happening...
Read Brad's Blog
The San Bernardino terrorist attacks have spawned an editorial on page one
from the vaunted New York Times, its first time doing so in nearly a century. What would cause the Gray Lady to be so incensed? Surely it has something to do with the Islamic State, or maybe our vulnerability to other terrorist actions and our ability to combat it. Surely they would use such an unprecedented event for this menace that we can barely comprehend.

It's hard to believe the holidays are already upon us.  I hope you and yours are enjoying the season and taking a moment to spend time with family.  I'm doing the same, but am also prepping for the return of Pike and Jennifer at the end of this month.

I just returned from a research trip to Poland, Slovakia, and Austria for the mighty tenth Pike Logan story -
Ghosts of War - and I'm gearing up for the launch of
The Forgotten Sol dier .  Written nearly a year ago, I used a refugee from Syria as a catalyst for the plot, and had no idea how relevant that would become in today's world.  But, as often happens in life, the crossroads of writing sometimes intersects with the real world.

We typically host a launch party in Charleston for each book, but this time we're switching it up.  We'll kick-off the release of The Forgotten Soldier with a home town signing at Blue Bicycle Books on December 29th at 6:00 pm.

Then, after the new year, we're excited to announce we'll be hosting the launch party in Dallas, Texas, on January 4th at 6:30 pm.  Yes, we're taking it on the road! See below for more details on the launch party and the cities we'll be visiting on this tour!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and that Santa brings you everything you deserve.  Especially a gift card to a bookstore.

Cheers!

Brad

The Forgotten Soldier
December 29th!

In
New York Times bestselling author Brad Taylor's latest heart-stopping thriller, Pike Logan returns with his most dangerous and personal threat yet: a Taskforce Operator gone rogue.

For years, the extralegal counterterrorist unit known as the Taskforce has worked in the shadows, anticipating and preventing attacks around the globe. Created to deal with a terrorist threat that shuns the civilized rule of law, it abandoned the same, operating outside of the US Constitution. Though wildly successful, it was rooted in a fear that the cure could be worse than the disease.

And now that fear has come home.

A Special Forces soldier is killed on an operation in Afghanistan, and complicit in the attack is a government official of an allied nation. While the US administration wants to forget the casualty, one Taskforce member will not. When he sets out to avenge his brother's death, his actions threaten to not only expose the Taskforce's activities, but also destroy a web of alliances against a greater evil. Pike Logan understands the desire, but also the danger. Brought in to eliminate the risk, he's now forced to choose between his friend and the administration he's sworn to protect, while unbeknownst to either of them, the soldier's death is only the beginning....

No Fortunate Son
Available in Paperback 12/29!

In the latest military thriller from the retired Delta Force Operator and  New York Times bestselling author, a hostage situation places America's most powerful political elite at the mercy of its worst enemies.

When veteran o perator Pike Logan and partner Jennifer Cahill receive a letter from Blaisdell Consulting-the umbrella cover company for their real employer, a top secret counterterrorist unit called the Taskforce-they expect orders for their next mission-impossible tasking. Instead, they learn that their latest actions have gotten them fired, despite having saved thousands of innocent lives.

Pike's shock and fury is redirected when their commander, Colonel Kurt Hale, asks him and Jennifer for help with a personal matter: His niece Kylie, an exchange student in England, has gone missing. Neither Pike nor Jennifer understands how critical her disappearance will become.

Meanwhile, all Taskforce teams have been redirected to a developing situation. A terrorist organization has targeted military relatives of key members of the US government, including the vice president's son. Their seizure of hostages was far-reaching and meticulously coordinated, and the full extent of the threat-and potential demands-has thrown the government into turmoil. They face a terrible choice: Cease counter-terrorist operations, or watch hostages die one by one. How much is a single life worth? Unless the Taskforce can decipher the web of lies devised by their enemies, the United States is about to find out.

What reviewers are saying about...

THE FORGOTTEN SOLDIER

"Taylor has become one of the very best writers of thrillers with a military and special-ops background. His consistency and his ability to mirror headline news with relevant, engrossing narratives are uncanny, and this exploration of the human side of war should quickly be recognized as one of Taylor's best efforts. Comparisons to Vince Flynn and Brad Thor are expected and not inaccurate, but Taylor is now in a class by himself."."
-Booklist, Starred review

Slick, exciting action and credible complexity are the hallmarks of Taylor's high-caliber thrillers, and this latest installment (after  The Insider Threat ) does not disappoint. Readers will root for the solid crew; the lightning-fast plot filled with tradecraft and intriguing politics will satisfy series fans and newcomers alike. Suggest to all fans of military thrillers and as a read-alike for Vince Flynn.
