Ms. Denise is born and raised in Los Angeles. Her love for teaching flourished when her first nephew was born. However, her passion for pursuing education grew as she volunteered at an elementary school working with kindergartners.
​
Currently, she is a senior at California State University Northridge where she is earning her bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent development! Ms. Denise hopes to continue to grow through her education and eventually earn her Masters.
​
In her spare time Ms. Denise enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Jesus, and her son. She enjoys going to the park, hiking with her family, and finding delicious eats all around the city!

Faith Ringgold
Tar Beach #2 (1990–1992), which depicts Ringgold’s recollections of growing up in Harlem during the summer when the tar roof of an apartment building served as a place for family picnics, star gazing and good times. Ringgold won a Caldecott Honor and the Coretta Scott King Award for her book Tar Beach.

Our Summer Serenade is back this year - June 24th 6-10pm. After missing it for the past 2 years we are excited to be able to celebrate once again our incredible community after our end of year Graduation Show.

We will need a lot of help from parents to make this celebration a huge success so keep an eye out for more information on how you can help. You can purchase tickets at the door and this is a KID FRIENDLY EVENT
