A note to our Camelot Community -

This time of year we always like to take a pause and reflect on things that we are most thankful for. This year it is easy to think of  what we are grateful for - YOU, our amazing Camelot Community. You are the reason we are here and we are thankful to our CK families who have been with us, online and in person since March - we thank you this holiday season for standing strong with us as we build a brighter future together. Sending you the warmest wishes and stay safe during your holiday break and we cant wait to finish 2020 stronger than ever!

Ms Clarissa was born and raised here in Los Angeles, CA. She received a B.S in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Fullerton. She realized her passion for working in the early education field by working at the Children's Center on campus. She believes in the importance of an age-appropriate curriculum for children and in making learning a fun experience for all. Ms Clarissa plans to continue to pursue her education and obtain a multiple subject Teaching Credential.
 
On her free time, Clarissa enjoys spending time with her friends and family, riding quads, and trying new foods. She especially loves traveling to Michoacán, Mexico to visit her mom's hometown. Clarissa is a flower, music, and ice cream lover!

Ms.Clarissa wanted to previously be a nurse before her passion hit of being a teacher! Let's celebrate all the nurses this month. 


Artist of the Month

 
Friday Kahlo

Frida Kahlo de Rivera was a Mexican artist best known for her self-portraits. Her paintings are strongly influenced by Mexican folk culture, and use lots of bright colors and dramatic symbolism. 

Frida was proud of her Mexican heritage. She was inspired by traditional Mexican art which is wonderfully colorful, bright, patterned, symbolic art. It is full of feathers, flowers, dancing, music, and texture. She often featured animals in her self-portraits, such as monkeys, parrots, a hairless dog, and a deer. The 'Self Portrait with Monkey' (1938) shows Frida standing in front of trees and leaves wearing a traditional Mexican blouse and necklace, along with an elaborate hairstyle that also reflects her heritage.

This year in lieu of any group celebrations we are sponsoring a family through CHLA's Holidays from the Heart program. "The Holidays From the Heart Program supports the most vulnerable and financially challenged patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Through Holidays From the Heart sponsorship, CHLA seeks to create hope for families by fulfilling some of their basic needs and alleviating some of the stress felt during the holiday season." We know that Camelot = Community and together we can help to contribute to a family who needs our help this year in bringing the holiday spirit their way! 

We are sponsoring a family of 3: King Littlefield, 23 months and a patient at CHLA and his family - Keywon LIttlefield and Aekie Nero. 

Family has experienced housing instability this year and struggled to connect to government support due to covid-19. This family continued to provide consistent medical care to King at CHLA, followed through on all comprehensive care referrals, and was recently granted a new apartment through a housing authority. Family could benefit from Christmas toys and clothing for King to celebrate overcoming several obstacles. 

Family's biggest need, Gift cards/money towards clothing, food, and gas. Household essential supplies.

Enrollment Season has begun for the 2021-2022 school year! Current Families must fill out re-enrollment forms for the upcoming year, this includes Big Dragons who wish to enroll in our Aqua Dragon Program. 

This year due to Covid19 we will require a $1,000 deposit which will be applied to your last month's tuition as well as the Registration Fee of $375 by February 1st.

If you know anyone looking for a school please send them our way so we can make sure they have take the necessary steps to get on our wait list.

ALL Enrollment and Re-Enrollment Applications due by Friday January 15th and deposit's due Monday, February 1st.

ALL our tours this year will be by sign up bases and our Camelot Open house will be virtual on ZOOM this year. For new families please use (or share) this link here to be invited to our online zoom event.

Introducing our newest member to the Camelot Community our NEW Toddler Program starting Fall 2021, this is open to all children and families with children 18-36 months old.
