At 20 years old, Emma Garlinski’s life changed dramatically when persistent migraines and facial numbness led to the discovery of a rare and aggressive tumour extending through her face and into her brain. After months of having her symptoms dismissed, she underwent emergency surgery, radiation treatment and ongoing therapies while facing vision loss, chronic pain and significant treatment-related challenges.
Supported by her family and community, Emma shares her story to inspire others to find strength in difficult moments and take life one day at a time.

What began as a single idea between friends has grown into one of the region's most heartfelt community fundraisers. On May 1, the third annual Tumour Take Down brought hundreds of people together in St. George, Ont. for a sold-out night of music, raffles and connection, raising funds for glioblastoma research and honouring those affected by the disease.
Throughout the past three years, the event has raised $67,000 for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, made possible by the dedication of organizers Leslie Hendrickson, Fiona Bell, Stacy Cornale and Trish Adams, along with their incredible team of volunteers.
