The City of Brampton added close to 2 million square feet to its inventory resulting in $342 million in construction investment to the city in 2020.
The steady level of construction activity in Brampton is an important indicator of the investment being brought into the region as well as our continued expansion of existing businesses.
Brampton continued to position itself as a key economic region for investment, and will remain among the country’s most active markets in Canada.

After more than 30 years working for others, Noel Folkard decided it was time to go out on his own in 2008. It was a life-altering decision for his family, but it felt right. Before making his big move, Noel knew that he needed to have a product customers wanted. He also knew he needed to have a dedicated team in place to establish a culture focused on constantly improving manufacturing processes and never resting on past performance.

Effective March 8, Brampton will be in the Grey-Lockdown Level.
In-person shopping is permitted with capacity limits (50% capacity for supermarkets and other stores that primarily sell groceries, convenience stores, pharmacies; and 25% capacity for all other retail i.e. discount and big box retailers, liquor stores, hardware stores, garden centres).

Did you know that Brampton has more than 30,000 people employed in the manufacturing sector, many of whom have skilled trades certifications?
To support and develop skilled trades talent, Brampton is home to Sheridan College’s Magna Skilled Trades Centre. The Magna Skilled Trades Centre is a 130,000 sq ft facility that witnesses approximately 2,000 students come through the workshops each year in electrical, industrial millwright, plumbing, precision machining and welding apprenticeship programs.

The Brampton Innovation District provides local talent development and support for entrepreneurs and new business owners through every stage of their journey, from education, training and re-skilling to support for companies of all sizes and across all sectors. The Innovation District is a developing ecosystem which also offers resources to support innovation and technology companies in creating new technology.

Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst created the Program in partnership with the SANS Institute, the world’s leading cybersecurity training and certification firm. The Program is supported through the generous partnership of the Government of Canada, Rogers Communications, and Royal Bank of Canada designed to give promising learners the skills they need to launch careers in the cybersecurity sector.

The World Council on City Data (WCCD) announced that the City of Brampton has received ISO 37120 Platinum-level certification, the highest standard in collecting, sharing, and using data to effectively make decisions.

The Accessibility Awards is a civic recognition program that identifies individuals, businesses, and organizations in the City of Brampton who demonstrate a commitment to accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities.

- Adjust the workspace to create physical barriers or restructure physical settings between people to protect employees and visitors and ensure that 2 metres (6 feet) of space can be maintained.
- When possible, employees should continue to work from home.
- Install physical distancing markers or directional arrows to ensure a 1-way flow of people.
