FedDev Ontario investment helps bring first-of-its-kind production line to the table for Woodlore International
(Woodlore), a family-owned manufacturer of commercial grade office furniture and storage units, and other products for the healthcare, education and hospitality sectors.
Through this expansion project, Woodlore will adopt a combination of Industry 4.0 manufacturing software and AI-enabled technologies to implement a state-of-the-art automated furniture panel production line—the first of its kind in Ontario—to increase capacity by nearly 50 percent and to satisfy market demand. In addition, Woodlore’s expansion will reduce raw material scraps to 13 percent, supporting Woodlore’s competitive sustainability efforts to divert waste from landfills.

- Adjust the workspace to create physical barriers or restructure physical settings between people to protect employees and visitors and ensure that 2 metres (6 feet) of space can be maintained.
- When possible, employees should continue to work from home.
- Install physical distancing markers or directional arrows to ensure a 1-way flow of people.
