During COVID-19
The Ontario government continues to provide a variety of supports to employers facing challenges as a result of COVID-19.
The government announced the new Ontario Small Business Support Grant, which will provide a minimum of $10,000 and up to $20,000 to help small business owners during this challenging period.

Brampton City Council approves 2021 Budget with third consecutive tax freeze and record contribution to reserves
BRAMPTON, ON (December 9, 2020) – Brampton City Council unanimously approved the City of Brampton’s 2021 Budget at a Special Council Meeting that was held on December 9th, 2020.
This is the third consecutive year that this Term of Council will deliver a 0% property tax increase to fund the City’s Budget, while making a record contribution of $114M to reserves.

Coke Canada Bottling to expand investment in Brampton
Coke Canada Bottling recently announced plans to spend $13-million rebuilding equipment at its Brampton plant. The changes will see production lines which are currently used to fill two-litre plastic bottles modified to be able to handle containers of various sizes. Coke Canada Bottling executives said the move will make operations more efficient and lessen the company's environmental footprint.

Brampton-based Ellerca Health is changing the chronic care landscape by leveraging a combination of emerging technologies and behavioural science to aid doctors and their patients.
Founder Daniel Yeboah recently raised a funding round of $500,000 to help further this mission.
Ellerca is currently working with Founder Institute (led by Toronto tech thought leader Sunil Sharma) in Brampton to continue building their business. They recently relocated from Mississauga to Brampton's Innovation District at 100 Queen Street and hired 3 new employees.

- Adjust the workspace to create physical barriers or restructure physical settings between people to protect employees and visitors and ensure that 2 metres (6 feet) of space can be maintained.
- When possible, employees should continue to work from home.
- Install physical distancing markers or directional arrows to ensure a 1-way flow of people.
