Dear Friend of the gallery,

One of the gallery's most respected artist's, Charles Frizzell was one of our distinguished guests at our annual Anniversary reception last week; and with that, he's just finished three paintings for us to feast upon.

If you would like to read Charles' biography or watch his interview at the gallery talking about his art, simply  click here.

As always, enjoy!

Cheers,
Lisa.

Summoning the Spirit Guides
By Charles Frizzell
Framed Original Painting
22" x 28"

Long ago in a dry and dusty corner of an unnamed desert, the full moon illuminates the village Bruja, the woman of prophesy and magic, as she performs an intense ritual. With a lack of rain, game, and even roots and berries, the people of her small village pleaded with her to contact the spirit ones to find what could be done. She agreed, and unwrapping her sacred spirit bowl, she takes it out into the full moonlight where her familiar, the owl, waits. With intense focus and ancient chants, she charms the spirit guides from the bowl to impart their wisdom through her. The clan survives, and to honor the spirit guides, the elders scratch their images onto the rocks in the valley.

Lady of the loch
By Charles Frizzell
Framed Original Painting
10.5" x 10.5"

The Lady of the Loch, who looks after the health of this lonely lake, wears a magic helmet wrought by mountain elves, and given to her by a wandering mystic. With it, she can summon supernatural powers to help her with the care of the loch and it's natural rhythms, as well as with the fish, and with the wildlife that is at home on its shores.

Transitions
By Charles Frizzell
Framed Original Painting
19" x 16"

The ancient citadel of magic is burning and in a state of collapse. The incantations, the spells, and much of the esoteric knowledge is flying away, circling over the Valley of Fog; a wasteland of superstition, ignorance, and charlatans. The New Mystic strides forth with her assurance, knowledge and strength, following her own path to seek what holds true from the ancients, and to create a new Magic for the changing times.
