Poisoning the Well - How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America

Udasin, an environmental reporter with 15 years of experience, co-authored the book with Rachel Frazin.

The book group normally meets on the third Monday of each month in the Periodical Room, except when the original date falls on a holiday. In January, the book pick will be "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson.

Open Registration for February Knitting Class

Winter: Learn to Knit Class

Tuesdays, starting February 3rd

Whether you are an experienced knitter in need of some help or have never picked up needles before, this class is for you! New knitters will learn basic stitches, how to read a pattern, and how to choose yarn, and will then complete a pair of mittens. Just need a refresher, or help getting through a difficult part of a pattern? Bring whatever you're working on, and we'll tackle it together.


You can also get help making the leap from simple projects to more complex projects like sweaters, hats, and Christmas stockings, as well as working with charts and multiple colors at once. Beginners should bring one pair of size 5, 6, or 7 straight needles (aluminum or bamboo) and one skein of midweight (worsted weight) yarn in a light color to the first class. 


If you sign up for any events and find that you are unable to attend, we kindly ask you to notify the library. This will allow us to offer your spot to another patron who may be waiting for an opening.

English for Students of Other Languages (ESL) – Mondays

ESL classes and one-on-one tutoring, Citizenship, Basic Literacy and computer classes and tutoring, college/ job application aid, assistance with studying for a driver’s license, and resume writing. Our mission as a WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) partner is to improve literacy, guarantee job placement and needed social services, help find childcare, housing security, and everyday necessities for our students.


To ensure that every student achieves a high school education and life’s necessities during and after their educational journey, we have secured partnerships with the community, non-profit organizations, local foundations, volunteers, social services, and other literacy groups, which have been vital.
