Congratulations Modena Borough!

Modena Borough was honored this week with a 2022 Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence. The award in the "Responding to Adversity" category was presented by State Senator Carolyn Comitta during the ceremony in Harrisburg. Modena Borough was severely impacted by flooding associated with Hurricane Ida, and Council President Jennifer Daywalt boldly led her team on a path to recovery and resilience. 2022 Open Space Summit
The Chester County Planning Commission and Department of Parks + Preservation will host the 2022 Open Space Summit: Farms for the Future, on May 10, at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore. The summit will call attention to Chester County’s farming industry and ways in which farming can be responsive to pressing environmental challenges.
Formal presentations will begin at 5 p.m., with tours of the park and its agricultural operations beginning at 6 p.m. Click here to learn more and register.

Explore 29 partnering municipalities along the Brandywine Creek Greenway using your phone’s GPS technology to find the closest parks and preserves to your current location. The app contains more than 200 publicly accessible parks and preserves from Honey Brook to Wilmington.

From biking to birding to trail hiking, plus fishing, boating, and more, filter the app by activity type to discover endless options for recreational fun. Each location includes a brief description, a scrollable photo gallery, GPS-enabled directions, tips, and more.
