Visceral Manipulation
The body is made to move. With every breath, the ribcage expands outward, the diaphragm expands downward, the heart is compressed and even the kidneys shift, sometimes up to four inches! With every step, the organs of the pelvis shift, back and forth or side to side as the muscles around them contract and relax. A lack of movement, on the other hand, can lead to dysfunction. This can show up as pain or tension, digestive issues, PMS, difficulty taking a deep breath, lymphatic stagnation, urinary issues, headaches, ear or jaw pain, vertigo, or nervous conditions to name a few.
Visceral Manipulation is a gentle, physical therapy that seeks to addresses these restrictions or tensions and allow the body to return to normal movement and function. During a session, your physician will take a brief history and then begin with an assessment by lightly placing their hands on different points of the body. Once they have determined where the restrictions are, they will then use various techniques to release the restriction. Restrictions can occur in organs (viscera), ligaments and tendons, muscles, joints and even bone. Most patients report the half hour treatments as calming and without discomfort and see immediate relief of their symptoms within 12 hours.

Hi Everyone,
This month's article is about visceral manipulation. It explains how it's done and why it is used to promote a healthy body.
Visceral manipulation is a gentle process with each treatment usually lasting 30-minutes. I recommend visceral manipulation as part of your regular health regimen.
Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. If he's right, that could mean continued less physical activity—unless we make a conscious effort to get moving.
Eat healthy, keep moving, and see your natural doctor.
We want to be your partner in good health.
