LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Minimum Wage Increase for 2023

The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations announced the new state minimum wage of $12.00 per hour, effective January 1, 2023. More information, including posters in English and Spanish, may be found here.

Missouri State Income Tax Rate

The top individual income tax rate dropped from 5.2% to 4.95% for 2023. The new rate is a result of special session in 2022. Governor Parson signed the bill into law October 2022. Press release with additional information here:

Missouri Attorney General Sworn In Tuesday

Missouri’s new Attorney General Andrew Bailey was sworn into office Tuesday morning. He addressed attendees at the Missouri Chamber’s Capitol Insight event that afternoon where he discussed his goals for the office.

102^nd Missouri General Assembly is in Session

The General Assembly convened Wednesday with newly elected and re-elected legislators being sworn in at the State Capitol. Senator Caleb Rowden (Dist. 19, Columbia) is President Pro Tem. Representative Dean Plocher (Dist. 89, St. Louis) is the new Speaker of the House.

On Monday, millions of viewers around the world watched the traditional and much-loved Tournament of Roses Parade, a spectacle full of marching bands and stunning floral floats. This year, a float sponsored by the Mansion Entertainment Group featured entertainment icon and two-time GRAMMY® winner Tanya Tucker to close out the 134th Rose Parade as the grand finale.

CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS RECAP

The holidays have passed and The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB was proud to partner with Branson Public Schools, local businesses, and tourism industry partners in hopes of making the holidays a little brighter and a little warmer for nearly 1,000 students in our community.
