Friday, October 7: HBCU Golf Tournament

Tee off at 10am
This is the 3rd Annual HBCU Golf Tournament. The group is fundraising for My Sister’s Place and Men Stopping Violence (MSV) during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The tournament is hosted by Bison Impact group and supported by many men and women who lend their voices to elevate those of domestic violence survivors.
Friday, October 7: Protect Our Women Hosted by Howard University.
2205 4th St NW, Washington, DC.
Event begins at 6:30pm
Protect our Women is hosted by Howard University students and is centered around violence against women and girls which is one of the most widespread issues amongst women and remains largely unreported. This event was created to equip young Black women attending Howard University with the tools to take a stand against this issue plaguing young women and empower them to create change on and off their campus. The event will include a donation drive and a presentation by My Sister's place.
Thursday, October 20: Signature #Purple Thursday Event
American University Quad from 10am-4pm
Create a Community Mural with us or participate in other art making as you get inspired and moved to make a difference! Come by during your coffee or lunch break. Leave a message for survivors, raise awareness, meet MSP staff, and help us change lives. We encourage Purple Wigs, Tutus, Ribbons, and other Purple Creativity throughout October.
Sunday, October 23: Madewell 14th Street Fundraiser
1919 14th Street NW, 12pm-4pm
Refresh your fall wardrobe and support My Sister’s Place! From 12 pm to 4pm, 10% of sales made in store at Madewell’s location at 14th Street NW will benefit MSP. Bring your friends and pickup your new favorite pair of jeans!
We are grateful for our partners who also support private events to amplify the plight of domestic violence survivors. These events include the Clothesline Project, a carnival event for the families in our shelter, workshops, lunch and learns, donation drives, and more!
