What do you do when God leads you right up to the edge of something you can’t cross on your own?

In Joshua 3, Israel discovers that following God doesn’t always mean knowing exactly how the story will unfold. Sometimes it means stepping toward the water and trusting that God is already there.

This Sunday, in Mind the Gap, I’ll share lessons from my summer in England during my seminary internship—stories of unexpected turns, uncomfortable gaps, and the surprising ways I learned that God doesn’t simply point us toward the next step; God accompanies us there.

So, what gap are you standing in right now? Come hear how the God who led Israel through the Jordan still leads—and travels with—us today.

Choir Rehearsals prepare to reconvene on Thursday, September 17th, as we begin work for the Christmas season. If you are interested in auditioning to be a part of the choir, email jeremiah@churchstpetersburg.org.

If you are looking for some help in gaining better finances, Nancy Elliott will be doing a 4 week class, starting on Wednesday, Sept. 30th at 7 pm. If you'd like to sign up, contact the church office or sign up in the foyer.

If you are able to donate, please bring them with you on Sunday or during the week when the office is open, and place them in the donation cart in the foyer.

Upcoming Community Activities

As the Gay Men's Chorus of Tampa Bay begins their 2026/2027 season, tickets are now on sale for "Lift EVERY Voice". "Lift EVERY Voice" is a celebration of empowerment, hope, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. Through powerful music and inspiring stories, the concert lifts voices that have too often been silenced, exploring themes of transgender dignity and equality, racial justice through the rich tradition of spirituals, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and immigrant justice. Together, these songs remind us that every voice matters—and that when we lift our voices together, we can inspire hope, challenge injustice, and create a more just and compassionate world.

Concerts take place on Oct 16th at 8pm in Tampa & Oct 17th at 8pm in St Pete- (ASL provided in St Pete). You can purchase tickets here.
