This year—2026—is a milestone in the story of our nation. It marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, a moment that invites both celebration and reflection. This Sunday, we’ll revisit several of our country’s foundational documents alongside scripture, asking how well we are living into the ideals they proclaim—both as individuals and as the church.

Bring me those who are weary, those who struggle, those who gather seeking refuge and hope.

Join us this Sunday for “The Words That Shape America’s Greatness.” Our scripture texts will be Hebrews 13:1–3 and Matthew 25:31–40.

Upcoming Activities

Our next monthly Breakfast Club will take place on Thursday, August 13th at at 9 am at Parkside Cafe. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is a great time of food and fellowship.

Our Church Summer Cookout will take place this Sunday, August 16th after worship. Contact the church office to let us know that you're coming and to see what you can contribute to the meal.

On Sunday, August 30th, Justin Ryan will be our very special guest to bring the message in song. Justin Ryan is an openly gay Christian singer, songwriter, and storyteller with roots in MCC. At the MCC General Conference in 2025, MCC awarded Justin with the "Freda Smith Purple Grass Award for Excellence in Evangelism", specifically for his weekly installment of "Southern Gospel Sissy", which you can watch here (new episodes every Sunday). If you like Southern Gospel music, you won't want to miss it. During worship, we will receive a special love offering for Justin to support his ministry!

During the month of August, we are collecting Breakfast Items and Clothing for Pinellas Central Elementary School. You can pick up a flyer in the lobby or see the items in the picture above. If you'd prefer to make a financial contribution for this effort, just put "PCES Drive" in the memo line or contact the church office.

We are now accepting pictures for our special presentation for Grandparents' Day. Please note that we want pictures of you and your grandchildren, so that we can honor the grandparents of King of Peace. Please submit your pictures no later than 8/30 to photos@churchstpetersburg.org. If you don't know how to scan them yourself, please bring them to church with you on Sunday.

Our next monthly Dinner Club will be at Miller's Ale House in Seminole on Monday, August 31st at 6:30 pm. This is a great way to socialize and get to meet others from King of Peace. If you would like to RSVP, please sign up in the foyer or contact the church office.

If you are able to donate, please bring them with you on Sunday or during the week when the office is open, and place them in the donation cart in the foyer.

The MCC Florida Network Gathering will be held Sept. 24–26 at King of Peace MCC. It is open to everyone and will include guest speakers, workshops, worship, and time to connect with others from across the Network.
