FY2022 Continuum of Care (CoC) Competition Award Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the annual CoC funding for San Antonio/Bexar County increased by $2.9 Million for FY2022, now totaling over $17 Million!

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released its FY2022 Continuum of Care (CoC) Competition Awards to local homeless housing and service programs across the nation. The CoC program promotes a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness and is the largest source of federal grant funding for homeless services and housing programs servicing people experiencing homelessness.

Due to our community's strong performance and progress in the CoC Competition, San Antonio/Bexar County's funding increased by over $2.9 million for FY2022, our largest increase ever!

  • The $2.9 million increase from FY2021 is our community's largest ever and over twice our previous highest increase.
  • Our community's funding has now more than doubled since HUD named SARAH the CoC Lead Agency for San Antonio/Bexar County in 2016.
  • This funding supports 33 local projects, including 5 new or expanded projects.
  • Over $7 million of the funding is dedicated to Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), which pairs housing with wrap-around supportive services to assist those with disabling conditions.
  • We received around $2.75 million for projects assisting persons fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
