• Breaking: CAIR-Chicago Concerned About Suspected White Supremacist Attack in Western Suburbs

The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today expressed concern about an alleged white supremacist attack on a Muslim family home in Bolingbrook, Ill., this past weekend.

donatebuttonOn Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at 2 A.M., a Muslim family, who does not wish to be identified, was awakened by glass breaking, only to find a brick had been thrown through their son's bedroom window. Fortunately, the son who though startled, was not badly injured. The family then went outside to find Islamophobic, racist, misogynistic, and homophobic graffiti on their property. Large font graffiti in red paint read "F*g", "N**ger" "B**ch," and "Arab" along with a Nazi swastika.

"This is a stunning development. This is an area consistently ranked number one in the country to raise a family, and here you have a blatant white supremacist violent hate crime delivered right to a Muslim family's home as they slept at night. They felt secure there and are now wondering where they can feel safe. It's as if there is no escape," said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab.

  • CAIR Seeks Disciplinary Action Against Tennessee Judge Who Shared Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Muslim Posts by Holocaust Denier

donatebuttonThe Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct to discipline Memphis Criminal Court Judge Jim Lammey for a pattern of sharing anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim posts, some from a notorious Holocaust denier.

According to reports, many of the posts shared on the judge's personal Facebook page make unfounded claims portraying immigrants as welfare abusers, vote fraudsters or threats to civilization.

A link posted on the judge's personal Facebook page on April 5, 2019, led to an article entitled "Stop with the Golems, Already!" by notorious Holocaust denier David Cole. The article calls Muslim immigrants "foreign mud." The article also criticizes the "integration craze" in public schools and says Jews should "get the f--- over the Holocaust.". . .

"Judge Lammey's comments are based on the same discredited white supremacist conspiracy theories that allegedly motivated the terrorists who targeted houses of worship in this country and overseas," said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "It would be impossible for Judge Lammey to rule in an objective manner while actively promoting anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim conspiracy theories on his social media. Appropriate disciplinary action must be taken to ensure fairness in Tennessee's courts."
