The Community Lung Clinic at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre has been open for two years, providing care to patients within their own community, helping them avoid the time and cost related to travelling for care.
Dr. Enam Alsrayheen PhD, Health Outcomes Scientist with Nova Scotia Health, is now researching the clinic's effectiveness and sustainability to explore how its model could be replicated for other illnesses and locations. She recently received a large grant to support her work.

The Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub, Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation, and the Orchid Women’s Health Initiative (Orchid Gala) have come together to make a transformative impact on pelvic health care in our province.
This collaborative effort is an exciting example of what we can achieve when we work together. The new space will provide a new model of care, reducing wait times, increasing access to diagnostics and therapies, and most importantly, improving patient experiences and outcomes.

Last fall, Nova Scotia Health’s Acquired Brain Injury Program partnered with the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub and CAN Health Network to launch a trial of Tenzr Health. This initiative uses wearable, gamified therapy to support rehabilitation for brain injury and stroke patients, offering an engaging, effective, and accessible recovery method.
The test and try has been so successful, we’ve accomplished a first in Canada!
