A Word from Mark

Dear Friends,

April holds a special place in our hearts. It is the month we pause as a community to shine a light on Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness, two causes that sit at the very core of why Radiant Futures exists.

Since 1976, we have walked alongside survivors and families in Orange County, offering safety, healing, and hope when it was needed most. Nearly 50 years later, that commitment has never been stronger.

This month's newsletter tells the story of Diego, a young single father who came to us carrying more than most people his age should ever have to carry. His courage, and the quiet resilience of his child, remind us of exactly who we are fighting for. Healing is possible. Cycles can be broken. And the right support at the right time can change the entire trajectory of a family's life.

That support exists because of you.

Which is why I hope you will join us on April 25, 2026, for Back to the Radiant Futures, our annual ball at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. Think 80s prom night meets Back to the Future for an unforgettable evening of community, celebration, and purpose. Every ticket and every sponsorship directly fund the programs that change lives.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses and community partners ready to make a visible, lasting investment in our neighbors' safety and wellbeing. Individual tickets are on sale now.

To purchase tickets or explore sponsorship packages, visit Back to the Radiant Futures Ball – Radiant Futures. We would love to have you with us.

Thank you for being part of this community.

In Gratitude,

Mark

Every Child Deserves to Feel Safe

Some things should never have to be said. And yet, every April, we say them anyway, because the children who need us are counting on us.

Child abuse is one of the most pressing public health crises in our country. According to the Children's Bureau, an estimated 600,000 children in the U.S. experience abuse or neglect every single year. Behind that number are real children, in our neighborhoods, our schools, our communities, navigating experiences no child should ever face.

The Bravest Thing Diego Ever Did

Diego was 24 years old, a new single father, and completely alone with a question he didn’t know how to answer: How do I make sure my child is okay when I’m still figuring out how to be okay myself?

Leaving hadn’t been easy. It never is. But staying had stopped being an option, and the weight of that choice, guilt, the grief, the uncertainty, followed him into every quiet moment.

What worried him most wasn’t his own pain. It was his child’s.

Great Scott! The Future is Calling

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the iconic Pacific Club in Newport Beach for a prom-inspired '80s formal evening celebrating resilience, possibility, and the power of community.

Since 1976, Radiant Futures has been Orange County's trusted source of safety and hope. As one of the nation's longest-operating domestic violence shelters, we provide crisis intervention, comprehensive survivor services, and prevention education that strengthen our entire community. Each year, more than 1,800 individuals access our essential services, and over 2,500 people are reached through outreach and education.

As the need for our programs grows, so does our vision. Will you join us for the prom night that truly makes a difference?
