July 2024 Newsletter

Join us on Thursday, July 18, at 4:30 p.m. to ceremoniously break ground on STAR lots 4 and 5! We are excited to start the next, and final, set of houses and kick off these new builds with future homeowners Mohammad & Arezo, and Claudia.

We hope that you can join us at this celebration! Get your directions for our development.

We are sad to share that after being offered an opportunity she couldn’t turn down, our Executive Director, Renee Robinson, is returning to the corporate sector and will be leaving Hanover and King William Habitat on July 18.

Renee joined in December 2020 and led the organization through much of the pandemic, the expansion to King William, scaled our critical repair program to the thriving community resource that it is today, moved our physical location, and spearheaded the purchase and development of the 5-home neighborhood we are building in Ashland currently. We are grateful for her service and will miss her passion and energy for Habitat’s mission. Renee said “I am truly proud to have been a part of this organization and its growth in the community. I know that Hanover and King William Habitat is going to continue to do great things and build on the momentum that we have created.”

The board, led by President Liz Pace Chambers, has kicked off the search process for the next Executive Director and Liz will be acting as Interim Executive Director until Renee’s replacement is identified. Liz noted “We are so very grateful to Renee for sharing her expertise, experience and passion with Hanover and King William Habitat the past three and a half years. Her ability to build relationships, solve complex problems, and lead and rally multiple stakeholder groups around our vision will be missed. We wish Renee the best in this next chapter and know she will continue to be an advocate for the organization. We look forward to welcoming a new Executive Director who will help us continue to realize Habitat for Humanity’s vision of 'a world where everyone has a decent place to live!’”

If you or someone you know is interested in the Executive Director role, please review the job posting and application instructions here.
