What made you decide to become an engineer?
I have always loved building things! As a kid I was the typical boy who loved Lincoln Logs and erector sets. It also helped that my dad was a civil engineer who owned his own business and always had me help him when he could. I loved watching him and was in awe of what he did. In short, it's in my blood!
How did you first learn about Mainstay?
A long term colleague of mine (Doug Seaboldt) introduced me to Mainstay. He encouraged me to research and learn about the company and ultimately join the team.
What is your favorite part about working for Mainstay?
My favorite part is the people as well as the interesting type of work that Mainstay performs.
What is your role at Mainstay?
I am a Senior Project Manager in our newly opened Raleigh office. This role includes overseeing my teams involvement in all aspects of the engineering and document development as well as client and overall project management.
What are your hopes for our industry?
That the structural engineering industry as a whole has a more leading role in overall project development. I also hope that current structural engineers ensure that our future engineers get the proper guidance and encouragement so that our industry will continue to grow and prosper.
