BREAKING GROUND
Dear Reader,

This time of year is special to me because people tend to demonstrate their generosity through charitable giving and volunteer work.

At Mainstay, it is very important for us to give back. For example, our employees participate in events such as Habitat for Humanity work days. Mainstay also has an annual giving goal of 1% of our gross revenue, and our employees have assisted in selecting the charities to which we give.

This year, we exceeded the $200,000 mark in overall giving since our company was formed in 2002! Our hope is to continue to be successful in what we do and to continue to be able to give, each and every year.

Best Regards,

SAVE THE DATE!
We will be hosting an open house on Tuesday, February 11th, 2020. The party starts at 3 PM and we will have food and a ribbon cutting ceremony! We would like to give a special thanks to all the firms that helped in the design and build of this space. We hope to see you there!

This exciting new project at Lynnewood Elementary School in Havertown, PA is a 700-student school, located in a dense residential neighborhood. It houses students in kindergarten through fifth grade. This project provides a full gamut of educational and community space including a central learning circle to support break-out activities, a dedicated life skills suite, a flexible stage arranged to serve both the gym and the cafeteria and an outdoor learning area.

Project Considerations The new school replaces the existing school on the same campus. The site is heavily sloped resulting in a building organization that features on-grade access at the first and second floors. Due to its location in a dense residential neighborhood, the configuration of the new campus is shaped by the relationships to neighboring houses and heavy community use of the fields and other site amenities.

If you are in the area, make sure you take a drive by and check out the new school. Thank you to all who worked hard to complete this exciting educational advancement!
EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Meet Eve L. Phelps, MBA - Marketing Manager at Mainstay
Eve Phelps has over 15 years of experience marketing a variety of products and services. As our newest employee, starting in October of 2019, Eve comes to us having earned her BSBA with a major in Marketing from The University of Pittsburgh, and her MBA from Robert Morris University, also in Pittsburgh, with a concentration in Marketing and Non-Profit Management. Eve returned to this area in 2005 and has been living locally with her family since her return.
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT MAINSTAY?    As the Marketing Manager, my key role is to engage with our clients and potential clients. This is done through networking, social media, marketing communications, company publications, our company website, events, and so much more. My job is unique each and every day.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO THE FIELD OF MARKETING?   I was always interested in business, even at a very young age. When I got to business school, I chose marketing as my major because I liked how dynamic marketing is. Despite the fact that it’s constantly changing and evolving, the main principles behind marketing remain the same. It is a mix of what you learned in school and putting it together with real-world application.

HOW DID YOU FIRST LEARN ABOUT MAINSTAY? I was involved in an ISPE (International Society of Professional Engineers) Habitat for Humanity workday, offered through the Delaware Valley Chapter of ISPE. I met one of Mainstay’s employees and we really hit it off. When a position in my field became available, she asked me if I was interested and the rest is history!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING FOR MAINSTAY?   I really enjoy the people and the culture at Mainstay. I think that when you have a great group of really smart people, great things can, and will happen!

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE RESPONSIBILITY AT MAINSTAY?   My favorite job responsibility so far, was going to the ASCE job fair at Penn State in October. I loved meeting potential new-hires and getting to tell them what it’s like to work for Mainstay. It is very exciting to see “fresh” talent with new ideas- people who will ultimately be shaping our future.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?   Great marketing never stops and so I have a ton of great ideas and projects coming up that I hope to accomplish in the near future. A few of these projects include: working on increasing our social media presence, improving our company website, and continuing to build relationships by attending many association events. As we move into our new office in Blue Bell, I am looking forward to planning and hosting an open house for all of our current clients to attend on January 24th, 2020.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES FOR OUR INDUSTRY?   I would like to continue to see more and more women enter into the field of engineering- both in engineering and in other roles. I have plans to be involved with the ACE Mentor Program for Architecture, Construction and Engineering. In a few weeks I will present with a fellow Marketing Manager in this field on the career possibilities for students looking to do something similar to what I do for this industry.

WHAT ARE 3 WORDS THAT YOU WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE MAINSTAY?
1) Innovative 2) Collaborative 3) Family-Oriented
MOVING UP
A Look Back at Mainstay’s Moves Throughout the Years
Throughout the years, Mainstay has outgrown several spaces, as well as adding a second office. Take a look back at our moves throughout the years!
2002
President Matt Hilbush, PE, started Mainstay Engineering Group, Inc. in 2002 out of a small office in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The office was located above the still operating, Tony Laguda Formal Wear at 48 East Butler Pike. The office was small, but served Mainstay well. In 2007, expansion was necessary and we began looking for more space.
2007
In 2007, Mainstay moved from
above the tuxedo shop, to a short
distance up the road. This
location, at 110 West Butler
Avenue, was also located in
Ambler, Pennsylvania.
2014
Our space at 48 East Butler Avenue became increasingly limited due to new hires and overall business growth. Mainstay began looking for a future place to call home. The space in North Wales, PA was found, and in 2014 Mainstay officially moved the office from Ambler, to its current location at 212 North Main Street, North Wales, Pennsylvania. It was sad leaving Ambler after so many great years, but North Wales has been a great place for Mainstay to call home!
2017
2017 was the perfect time to look for a second office location. Mainstay found a central location in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The New Jersey based office was opened that year, and is located at 1415 Marlton Pike East. The office in North Wales remained, making it our new corporate headquarters!
2019
With new hires each year, and now operating in over 30 states and abroad, the need for a larger corporate office became clear.

After the location at 1750 Walton Road in Blue Bell was found, the building went through a total transformation. With two conference rooms, a sizable waiting/reception area, a state of the art break-room and a gym for our employees to enjoy, this space is truly special. We are thrilled about this move and we look forward to you visiting us at our open house on February 11th, 2020 at 3 PM!
Present Day Today we have over 30 employees and we are continuing to grow. Mainstay participates in Drexel’s co-op program each year giving us the opportunity to work with and mentor several students throughout the year. Each year we hire several full-time employees and we are always looking for great talent!
