2011 GETTYSBURG FESTIVAL

Celebrating American Craft and Artistry, from June 10 -19, 2011, Boehm Porcelain was honored to exhibit at the Gettysburg Festival of art, culture and cuisine. Boehm makes about 15 varied American eagles, which were showcased at the event. (Prices range from $295 to $20,000).

SEPT. 18, 2011. More than 1,900 cancer survivors "winners" and their loved ones will gather on Ellis Island to experience a "Celebration of Life and Liberty."
The brainchild of Dr. Andre Goy, of the John Theurer Cancer Center at HUMC and Sharon Lee Parker, founder of "Life Lover Foundation," this annual event is a day to enjoy being alive!

"Sometimes one must attempt things that are beyond one's capacities." -- August Renoir WHENEVER I AM INVITED TO SPEAK at various forums around the country, I typically end with that encouraging quote by Renoir. Short and to the point, it's a philosophy I have always lived by especially when undertaking the exciting challenge of running Boehm Porcelain Studios. Along with my husband George, Boehm's indefatigable COO, and our team of talented artisans and employees, we have made it our mission to keep an American legacy company alive and thriving for future generations, adhering to the philosophy that everything in our creative process have the American stamp of authenticity. I am proud to say we are winning that good fight! In this past year, in addition to being showcased globally in museums and the homes of discerning collectors, Boehm has designed sculptures for the royal couple Prince William and Kate, the Obama White House and the prestigious Philadelphia Flower show, to name but a few. Most recently, George and I joyfully traveled halfway around the world; me to Rome and the Vatican to present to the Pope and he to Doha Qatar, to install porcelain flowers in the lobby reception area of the exquisite 5 star Grand Heritage Hotel owned by Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa and his family (Our top image is but one of 16 beautiful glass-encased creations permanently ensconced in the hotel's lobby) . I see these two latest installments as an act of friendship and love from America. Given all of the bad news that we are constantly bombarded with, George and I have accomplished something with a most positive impact. Boehm Porcelain will continue to live happily in the Vatican, which, by the way, houses the largest collection of Boehm sculptures in the world, while a magnificent display of flowers grace the majestic accommodations of our new friends in the Arab World. If there ever was a time to help make a difference in the world, it is now. Sharing the best life has to offer and bridging our different cultures makes us all stronger and better in our quest for a peaceful world coming together. Yes...

FOR HER RECENT VISIT TO THE VATICAN, Sharon Lee Parker brought 18 pieces of the Precipio lovingly created by the Boehm artisans, and a bust of John Paul, a special gift for Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope Benedict was delighted with the gifts of fine art, and Sharon and guests were invited to sit in close proximity to His Holiness during his Wednesday outdoor service attended by thousands of people. These new porcelains will be a welcome addition to the Boehm collection, which already has a presence at the Vatican, including an unprecedented two dedicated wings and the Muted Swans at the entrance to the Sistine Chapel.
