Tornado Response
Our neighbors in middle Tennessee need our help after tornadoes devastated communities Monday night. The storms claimed at least 24 lives, caused significant damage to three United Methodist Churches, and leveled whole neighborhoods, leaving countless families homeless. Read more from United Methodist News.

Cleaning and Hygiene Kits Needed

Holston churches are asked to assemble cleaning and hygiene kits to replenish our stores that are already on their way to helping those affected by the storms.

We will collect these at the Three Rivers District Ministry Center, where they will be picked up by our conference disaster response team. Please deliver completed kits to the district office by March 31. As our office hours sometimes vary, please call us at 926-7533 before coming by to make certain someone is here.

Monetary Donations Needed

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has already awarded a $10,000 sustainability grant to the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church. This grant provides immediate, emergency short-term funding to address the basic human needs of those affected by this catastrophic storm. You can join with UMCOR by donating to the disaster response and recovery funds.

Individual donors may also give directly to the Tennessee Conference at this link or mail checks payable to "TNUMC Disaster Response" to:
TNUMC Disaster Response
304 S Perimeter Park Dr Suite 1
Nashville TN 37211

Church donations may be made under the UMCOR classification on the Holston Remittance Worksheet (memo: TN Conference - Tornado Response).
