This Just In...RENT, The Broadway Musical August 8 -10

This Just In is not as recent as the previous This Just In, but still, pretty recent.

The UH Manoa production of RENT directed by Joshua "Baba" Tavares, will travel to Kauai with a company of 50 made up of actors and techies, August 8 - 10. They will do three performances, including 7pm on Friday & Saturday and close with a 2pm Sunday matinee.

RENT is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson.[1] Loosely based on the 1896 opera La bohème by Giacomo Puccini, Luigi Illica, and Giuseppe Giacosa, it tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village, in the thriving days of the bohemian culture of Alphabet City.

Air transportation courtesy of Southwest Airlines. We are currently seeking sponsors for this production, If you would like a sponsorship packet, contact Gregory von Hausch, Greg3512@hawaii.edu.
