New England Patriots defensive back and Washington D.C.native, Tavon Wilson, has had lupus impact him closely since he was at the University of Illinois when his Aunt Regina discovered that she had this unpredictable disease. "I first found out a few years ago when I was in college and I was shocked because she [Aunt Regina] has been healthy throughout her whole life. I wanted to do anything that I could to help out after seeing her go through some of the symptoms." Tavon's cousin, Dionne, also has been diagnosed with lupus.

"I am glad to be back again this year not only as a World Champion, but as the Grand Marshal for this special event.  Together, we can defeat this disease, discover our power, and unite as lupus champions."
