Breaking Up with the Devil
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the
glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will
I give it.
Luke 4:6
This
scripture speaks of the devil’s enticements. Jesus rebuked him—threw
him out of His life—leaving us an example to follow. If you are a
born-again, on-fire-for-God Christian, then you also have a “jilted
lover” (the devil), who still doesn’t want to admit defeat even after
all this time. So, what do you do?
You must want to break up with the devil—that is the bottom line. You
must be sick and tired of the relationship. When Satan gets what he
wants—your soul—he’ll drop you into hell with all his other deceived
lovers. Remember: Satan is like a pig farmer. A pig farmer always
fattens up the pig, filling his trough with carnal delights in
preparation for the slaughter. Satan will promise you everything and
leave you with nothing.
Destroy any evidence of your relationship. Get rid of the “articles of
affection”, tear up his notes, give him back his varsity jacket, give
him back his promise ring. Burn his music, get rid of any videos that
grieve the Holy Spirit, mutilate the devil’s books. Destroy the
articles of affection!
Remember: He will flee, but he’ll be back. You must continue to resist.
He’ll remind you of the good times, but never remind you of the
depression, suicidal thoughts, fits of anger, rage and hopelessness.
Friend, don’t fall for his lies. Break up with the devil and never look
back!
