The Road Ahead: New Name, Same Great Resources
Auburn Youth Resources (AYR) has been extremely fortunate over the past 43 years to have so many generous advocates, volunteers, and supporters. The tremendous impact that has been made for youth and young adults in South King County could not have been possible without you. Thank you.
With the increasing need for homeless, mental health, and substance use services in our region, the demand for AYR’s skilled staff is at an all-time high. Right now we are working in almost 20 cities scattered throughout South King and North Pierce Counties. This organization is at an exciting crossroads. For nearly 5 years, we have been researching the best way to unite our work across all of the communities we serve. Collaboratively, it was decided
that an agency name change made the most sense to communicate our far-reaching presence across the region.
We are so excited to introduce, for the first time, our new name…. Nexus Youth and Families. Nexus means ‘connection’ in Latin, and that is the very thing we have done for the past 43 years. We meet youth and families where they are in life and provide connections to a brighter and healthier future.
Nexus Youth and Families strives to continue doing the work that you have supported for many years. This organization belongs to you and together, we can continue to restore hope, build futures, and strengthen our community.
We hope you are as excited as we are about the future of this amazing organization. The name change officially takes place at our 26th Annual Valentines Breakfast on February 10, 2017. If you would like to learn more or have questions about the transition please don't miss this event. It is going to be an amazing morning dedicated to you, the heart of this organization. Save your seat before they all fill up!
