Soledad Fire Shuts Down 14 Freeway; Contact Your Worksite If Impacted
At about 3:30 pm yesterday, a fire broke out in the area of Soledad Canyon Road and the 14 Freeway. This fire precipitated the closure of the 14 Freeway in the area in both directions. Please contact your worksite if the fire is impacting you and/or if you have any problems. And please STAY SAFE!

Help Is On The Way!
For Local 685 members working at Central Juvenile Hall and Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Halls who think additional staff is needed, help is on its way. There are currently 23 new hires training at the Probation Training Center and Local 685 participated in the orientation to let them know what to expect in their new jobs. DPO Stacy Ford, Camps Vice President, DPO Eric Walton, Institutions Vice President, and Membership Outreach Representative Cookie Lommel answered questions posed by this group. 
Most of the men and women hired by the Department will be assigned to the Juvenile Halls and some to the Camps. Some already have law enforcement backgrounds, and all are looking forward to getting started in their Probation careers!

Local 685 visits the Probation Training Center in Pico Rivera. The AFSCME Local 685 Probation mask was passed out, and members demonstrated social distancing.

Retired DPO Robby Robinson worked for Probation for over 30 years and early in his career he pursued his dream of becoming a stunt performer and worked as a stunt man in several films.
